This was my first real user-facing project where I thoroughly iterated on both the systems (model steering, backend, fault tolerance, optimization) and product (UI/UX and "frontend").

My main takeaway from building it out was that the software creation really only took up about 35% of the initial effort, and the remaining 65% was occupied by dogfooding, validation and getting real user feedback.

Nothing is quite as humbling as watching a real person stumble around your app unguided, but I guess that's what it takes to build software for humans.
